Ethynylmagnesium bromide or bis(bromomagnesium)-acetylene BrMgCCMgBr is very important Grignard reagent. It is useful in preparing disubstituted acetylene derivatives. Acetylenic Grignard reagent do not react with metal halides. They are very useful reagents for reaction with highly reactive compounds.
